Happy New Year and 100th Anniversary

Published by Barry Oxley under on 2:11 PM
Well, first of all Happy New Year to all of you. I hope that you like our new website and website look to the Lincoln Heritage Council. 2010 is finally here and the 100th Anniversary of the BSA is rolling out in full speed. Here in the Lincoln Heritage Council we have many activities planned throughout the year for Scouts, leaders, parents and family members. Coming up very soon will be Scout Anniversary Week in February, the Eagle Scout recognition program, Silver Beaver Awards dinner, and the community service day.

I am very excited about our community service day scheduled for March 27th. Our plans are to mobilize 20,000 Scouts, leaders, parents, family members and others to do a community service day within your own community. Check out our website for more information and to sign up your unit's participation. Think about this for a moment......if we mobilize 20,000 people doing work on one Saturday for at least 5 hours, we will do a combined service project of over 100,000 hours!!! Better than this, what impact, difference and statement can we as a Scouting movement and members of our communities. Sign up today and mobilize your unit. We would like the community service projects, one that you choose to make the most difference, to be done in your own community. Together we will make a huge impact.

I look forward to hearing from you on this blog on how we together can progress our Scouting movement forward and constantly improving what we do. Please remember that the rules of the blog are the same rules of the Scout Oath and Law. Thanks for all that you do!
